Just like every other car. You take the old ones out and put the new ones in. If you didn't change at least four you need to keep looking. Don't forget to check the gap and use anti-seize on the threads of the new ones.

Check your spark plug wires. They maybe bad.
The Subaru 2.5 L engine is a non-interference engine. If you change the timing belt when it should be changed you don't need to worry either way.
Sorry, but it won't. Subaru's changed their headlight shape every 3 years or so. They made a change around April 1997, so the one's before that are different from the ones after.

Plugs are located under the individual coils at top inside edge of valve cover.
