To change the starter motor on a Chevy Celebrity:
1 Disconnect the battery ground. Use protective gloves.
2. Set the parking brake. Raise the car as required and put on jack stands.
3. Disconnect the wires at the starter solenoid. Take note of where they come off so you can put them back on.
4. If there is a brace from the starter to the block remove it.
5. Take out the two bolts that hold the starter in place, pull the starter out of the bell housing. If there are shims between the starter and the bottom of the engine block save them for use with the replacement starter.
Reverse the process to install a replacement starter.
