I highly recommend you take this to a shop to have it done, the reason i say this is because it took me two days to take it all apart i was always installing a new crankshaft position sensor, the timing marks are difficult to understand, after i got it all together i was a tooth or two off, so the chances are i just bent some valves this will be real expensive too, i tried to tell my dad to just take it to a shop, but no he thought i could do it since i always repair everything hah not this time...
Actually a TIMING CHAIN ( 2006 and newer 4 cylinder Hyundai Sonata )
In a 2006 Hyundai Sonata : The 2.4 litre four cylinder engine has a ( timing CHAIN )
Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine.
The 2.4 liter four cylinder engine in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata must have a timing CHAIN ( the Gates website , they make timing belts etcetera , does not list a timing belt for it )
4 cyl 2006 sonata has a chain
Timing CHAIN ( 2.4 liter four cylinder and 3.3 liter V6 engines in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata )
Timing BELT for the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder and the 2.7 liter V6 in a 2004 Hyundai Sonata
In back of the timing cover at the bottom.
Not sure what year your Sonata is but for an example the 2008 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.4 L 4 or 3.3 L 6 cylinder engine doesn't use a timing belt.
No a 2002 Hyundai Sonata does not have two timing belts. There is only one timing belt in the car. The timing belt replacement kit will include another belt but it is the balance shaft belt not a second timing belt.
Yes , the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder in a 2002 Hyundai Sonata is an interference engine ( according to the Gates website - they make timing belts etc . )
Under the timing belt cover!
