It is an involved task that takes some training and special tools to do properly. I encourage you to let a pro do it.
Automatic tranny dipstick located to the right of engine towards the windsield. it is set down a bit and is black. can be hard to see.
Remove the exterior rubber trim and than while sitting in the front seat, push out the windsield by placing your feet on the inside and push with your legs. Never done it, but I've seen it done many times.
1. Set the blades at a position that is easy to work on. To do this turn the key on and turn the wipers on. When the wipers are straight up and down turn the key off. 2. Lift the blade from the windsield. Press the coil spring with a small screwdriver to release the blade. Move it back and forth and take it off. Press the new blade onto the arm pivot pin. Make sure the spring holds the blade to the pin. 3. Turn the key on and turn off the wipers. 4. You got 'er done.
It is possible to replace a windshield wiper arm without replacing the entire mechanism on a 1995 Geo Metro. This would only be possible, though if the arm was broken off above where the wiper connects to the wiper motor.
My girl says have your boyfriend do it. But in the center of the wiper should be a box, this box is idealy where the arm and your wiper connect. It's a bit of a locking/sliding process, so it is going to use some force when removing/installing a wiper. First, locate the 2 lower pins on the front of the box I talked about, they are just going to be plastic tabs really. Push those inward, and pull the wiper outward. If this stumps you, let me know and I'll make a little video.
