To replace the keyboard for a Sony Vaio VPCEB, you will need to power down your laptop. Disconnect it from external power and remove the battery.
Turn the laptop upside down onto a flat surface. The bottom vents should be facing you.
There are two screws in the bottom center, one on each side of a removable vent plate. Remove these two screws. Set them aside in a small dish, or somewhere else they won't be lost.
Turn the laptop right side up, open it, and carefully pull on the frame surrounding the keyboard. Start over the function keys and work your way around. The keyboard and frame are one piece, and they are held in place by plastic clips.
You need to get to the keyboard connectors, so gently rest the keyboard on its face.
Unlock the keyboard connector from the motherboard. There is a brown clip that you will need to move towards you. The cable will slide out of the connector. That's it. The old keyboard is removed.
To install the new keyboard, follow through this same process in reverse. Plug the new keyboard into the motherboard, lock it in with the brown clip, and keep going.
This isn't enough difference to cause any problem.
