While signed in, scroll over to where you have the Sign In, PlayStation Home, internet Browser, and download options. Click "Account Management" and from there you should be able to edit your account details! If that fails, login to the PlayStation Community Site and change it from there.
There is an option in the sign in to find your lost password. It probably says: "Forgot your password" or "I forgot my password". Just click that and reset your password, simple.

There was a smart Alec who wanted to cheat so he hacked into the playstation network and he got reported and after hey found this out, playstation did a big overhaul from scratch to the P.S. network to make the security much higher.
as far as i know wall you can do is ttry to think of passwords they use for example; itunes passsword xbox live password playstation network password or their email.
To sign into the Playstation Network under the master account or you can sign in under a sub account if one exists. Sign in can be set to remember password or auto sign in and then you only need password when making account changes
