You don't; WikiAnswers changes it when you have a certain amount of contributions.
A list of how many contributions you need to get to a certain rank is below:
Bronze contributor: 500 contributions
Silver contributor: 5,000 contributions
Gold contributor: 25,000 contributions
Platinum contributor: 100,000 contributions
Double Platinum contributor: 200,000 contributions
Ruby contributor: 500,000 contributions
Those are all the rankings so far.
Depending on the popularity of the category, it may or may not be at all difficult to make enough contributions to be listed as a Top Contributor of a category. As such, being a Top Contributor in and of itself doesn't mean much. It's the quality of your contributions, not the quantity, that will help you "earn your mark."
The Top Contributor badges are given out with the WAmmys. When they come, so will your badge.
Though the criteria are subject to change, you are promoted to a bronze contributor after 500 contributions, a silver contributor after 5,000, a gold contributor after 25,000, and a platinum contributor after 100,000 contributions.
It will say the question on top, and below that the question's category. Below the category it says who the first and last contributors were. It then says Contributor trust: [number here] and a link to recomend the person. The number is the number of trust points the last contributor has. You can then recommend them if you trust their answer by clicking on the link.
