The starter is located on the passenger side under the cat converter heat guard. There are twq bolts that hold it onto the bell housing. First disconnect the ground wire, then the positive electrical wire and the the plastic wire clip. Then remove the bottom bolt...the top bolt is located behind the solenoid that sits on top of the starter body. Remove it and pull the starter our. Reverse the procedure to install the new one.
No special tool but the inner bolt is somewhat hidden behind the solenoid. Just use an extension bar on your rachet wrench.
