The best way to beat a lie detector test is not to take even take it....

In the US you can not be forced to take a lie detector test under any circumstances...

Lie detectors work by detecting changes in your body functions such as heart rate, blood presure, breathing and perspiration(sweating)......changes in these body functions can indicate a lie or deception...

The examiner will start off by monitoring your body functions as he explains the procedure to you and he will ask your name and possibly the date and even engage in just random small talk....this gives them a base line for your resting body functions....

The examiner will then begin the test and under normal circumstances if you lie your body functions will change from the normal base line.....

There are some herbs/medications that can control your heart rate, blood pressure and your breathing...sedatives,anti-anxiety meds and other drugs,However they might give you a drug screen before the test.....

There are other counter-measures that you yourself can use such as keeping your breathing matched to counting numbers in your head,or maintaining shallow breathing during the whole test...and since they monitor your perspiration by attaching sensors to 2-3 of your finger tips you can coat your finger tips with an anti-perspirant...However they may have you wash your hands with some hand sanitizer before the test..

And they dont just give you one test, they may perform the test 2 or 3 times in a row and even ask you variations of the same questions...

In the end they may even determine that you are using counter-measures to effect the results...very few people can beat the lie detector test, unless your trained as a spy by the military or have a mental disorder that effects your preception of reality....

so its best not to even take the test...rather than try beating it..

There is a web article by William Scott Stewart titled "How to Beat the Lie Detector." Stewart breaks down how a lie detector test works and how you can beat it, claiming that nothing can actually predict whether or not you are lying.

Will Oreo cookies help you pass a polygraph test?

No, Oreo cookies are unlikely to help you pass a polygraph test. A polygraph test, also known as a lie detector test, measures various physiological responses such as heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration to determine whether someone is being truthful or not. Eating Oreos, or any other food, before or during a polygraph test is unlikely to have a significant impact on these physiological responses, and thus is unlikely to affect the test results. In fact, attempting to manipulate the results of a polygraph test is generally not recommended and can have serious legal and ethical consequences. It is best to be honest during a polygraph test and to follow the instructions of the examiner.
