has it still got a carb if so remove air cleaner stand at rh fender look at carb should see round black cover with electrical conn 3screws in triagular pattern loosen remember markings on edge of housing put new t stat on line up marks as old unit Carburators are not and have not been used on cars since the mid 80's. Drain the radiator into a container. At the engine end of the upper radiator hose is the thermostat housing. Remove the hose,thermostat housing and thermostat. Clean the surfaces,install the thermostat and gasket or "O" ring seal and the housing. Refill with antifreeze.
The last year Chevy Celebrity made was 1990 but generally speaking to replace a thermostat: 1. Using a suitable container drain the coolant below the level of the thermostat. 2. Remove the water outlet. The thermostat will be there. 3. Clean mating surfaces and install the replacement thermostat. 4. Put the bolts back in, replace the coolant and check for leaks.
Check the brake light switch on the brake pedal. Might have to replace it.

I have a 93 Caprice and the cruise went out a few times. Check the third brake light in the back of the window. If it is out replace it and this might fix the problem. Also check the fuse as it controls the cruise and third brake light as well.
That depends on the thermostat. If it's a 185 thermostat, the engine should run at 185. If it's running too hot, check the thermostat, radiator and water pump. If it's running too cold, replace the thermostat.
