need to know if it is and automatic or a standard shift transmission Automatic has no dipstick to check trans fluid.
There is no dipstick for the trans.
Idling in park, pull the trans dipstick and check the level.
You fill the trans fluid thru the dipstick you check the level at.
If it's a manual trans, you check it from underneath the vehicle. There should be a plug on the transmission towards the top.
Fill it at the same place you check the fluid level.

It cost around $2800.00 for a rebuilt Trans from Mercedes which is a deal worked out between the dealer & a trans-rebuild Co. If you want a Genuine Mercedes trans from the factory.. It's around $4000.00
: THE BENZ GUY : 1st thing check oil level if thats good its commin the trans front pump goes bad best way 2 check the pump is to take out the drain plug and start the car if the oil does not come out in reverse from the drain plug the pump is bad....note trans must be hot 2 check oil the correct way
Not sure if this will help, I am having the same problem. the first thing I checked for was low trans fluid level, next I will vheck the filter and flush the trans
The exact same place you check the fluid level.
Is your Alero a 2.4, a 2.2 ecotec or a 3400?
