[A] short wires across on plug read code then run car [read and note code] [B] unshort plug run car ,[read and note code ][C] replug back in solenoid run [note and read code] which fault did u first have before test .If A short in solenoid itself ,If b in all tests broken wire .If c solenoid or tank leak [canister]

Remove the engine sight shield. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) line from the canister purge solenoid, perform the following: * Push the large size white retainer portion in. * Push down, while pulling up slightly in order the disengage the tube. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid and insulator Reinstall in reverse order....... toque spec is 91 inch lbs

You probably replaces the purge solenoid on the intake, you want the vent solenoid at the canister.
The purge valve on the Malibu is located on top of the charcoal canister that is mounted on the side of, or in close relation to the fuel tank. Usually on the same side as the filler neck. This purge valve is not to be confused with the purge valve solenoid which is located on the intake manifold. If for some reason you can not find the purge valve/canister just locate the solenoid on the intake manifold (which will have an electrical plug and one vaccum line attached to it.) and trace the vaccum line under the car to the canister. As stated above...it is there that you will find the canister purge valve.
