Hmm, as a rule they don't break, although Chevy had a problem with soft camshafts "rounding."
A broken camshaft would make quite a horrible racket when the engine is turned. You most likely do not have a broken cam shaft.
the distributor fits on a key away at the end of the camshaft. the timing belt is broken or the camgear. check the one at the bottom. belt could have snaped or the camshaft could have broken or the keyway could have rung off (not likely but possable). check all of these things.
NO. If the camshaft is broken it will not run. If the camshaft is worn it will run poorly.
You locate cam-sensor check for loose or broken wires ,if this doesn't work replace cam-sensor.
Lack of lubrication or defect in the metal.
No, you can't because you'll drag
The roll pin in the distributor drive gear may be broken. Remove distributor and check. Camshaft broken, But not very common in stock engines. Timing chain broken. Not common either. Cam gear on the timing gear may be striped off/teeth gone. Check timing chain.
He wanted to see whether the seal HAD been broken. (correct answer)
check the crankshaft and/or camshaft position sensors, if they are not working the ECU will not "see" the engine turning, therefore no need to spark..
code o340 is camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction code oo15 not a good code but if it was o115 it engine coolant temperature circuit malfunction both these codes say it might be short check and see if broken wire or a mouse chewed the wires
i think it is in the dance club check it ull see
Broken oil pump, plugged sump, disconnected or broken oil pump shaft. Also, if I recall correctly this is driven off a lobe on the camshaft. I would doubt that the camshaft would wear flat or that a broken camshaft would not show itself in other more extreme ways. Perhaps a broken thrust bearing on the end of the camshaft may cause it to drift enough to lose connection, but I would bet the first sentence would cover the problem. Hopefully pulling the pan would explain what is going on.
A couple thing come to mind. Broken timing belt, broken camshaft, broken distributor shaft. Are you seeing the trend here?? I think your engine is BROKEN.
