Assuming you are already in a clan, you either:
1) Click on "Clan" at the bottom. This will only show clan messages, and any message you type will go to the clan. If you temporarily join a "friend clan", click on "Friends" instead.
2) Start your message with two slashes, "//", for your main clan, and a single slash, "/", for a friend's clan.
