first you remove the tranny pan and you clean it out good with a clean rag then you take the too bolts loose on the filter that is hanging down you cant miss this remove the filter and reverse process for install
Dont clean it just replace it. There are almost no instances where a gasoline filter is cleanable, some aftermarket filters can be taken apart and the screen removed for cleaning, but I have not seen one yet on a production vehicle.
other than taking the paper filter out everyday and spraying it clean with a hose....nothing. Buy a better filter. It may cost $300-$400, but it will circulate the water faster and make vaccumming easier.
