You want to have these items with you: Liquid soap (I use antibacterial), a bucket, a towel, and your grooming kit.
Fill your bucket with warm water, add liquid soap to it, and mix it up until the water is soapy. One by one, put your brushes in the water and scrub them really nice to get off the dirt. After you have finished all your brushes, let them soak for a while. When that is complete rinse them off with cold water (I use a hose), wipe them with the towel and leave them to air dry.
To get out pesky hair, run your brushes over a fence/use a shedding blade. Sometimes though, the best way is to hand pick/or use a tooth pick to get as much hair as you can out.
