How do you clean curtains soiled with water from central heating radiator?

Ammonia with NON bleach detergent. Never mix bleach with Amonia. Use once cup of ammonia (lemon or regular) per large load. Leave washer lid open, as to let detergent and ammonia agitate then soak for at least two hours. Follow label instructions on water temp. After two hours, re-start washer at begining (as if you just put it in to wash for the first time) and let it run the whole cycle. Check to see if stain is removed before you dry. If Label says dry clean only - take to cleaners. Ammonia has never caused fading or bleeding of anything I own, nor does it break down cotton like bleach will.
