Dead skin is cleaned by debridement, which is cutting and removing the dead skin. This can be done without anaesthetic, but larger areas may require a general anaesthetic

Is toothpaste effective in removing pimples?

The most important step in preventing pimples is to keep your
skin very clean, and to remove layers of dead skin (this process is
also known as exfoliation). In theory you can clean your skin with
toothpaste, but really, toothpaste is better suited for cleaning
the teeth; you can use any kind of soap on the face.

What is epidermis dead?

Dead Epidermis refers to dead upper skin layers in humans and
animals. The skin has two layers, the Epidermis (which is on the
very surface) and the much thicker Dermis, which lies below and
forms the main body of skin. Every so often, parts of the epidermis
die and flake off, to be replaced by a new one that grows to take
it's place. This is to keep the skin clean, and get rid of harmful
bacteria that get trapped in the Epidermis.
