You can try hydrogen peroxide directly on the stain. It is supposed to bubble up and then wipe it off with a plain white cloth. Try the peroxide first on a hidden spot or the back to make sure it doesn't discolor the rug. I've been told that it works on all kinds of carpets with no color fading.
