How you clean tack is by getting a sponge or cloth, applying any brand of tack cleaner (avaidable in equestrian stores) and rubbing it in well. (make sure you take off the bit.) it is optional to take your bridle apart. or you can take away the bit, get a bucket or basin, fill it with cooking oil and simply dump your tack in.

If you are a pony clubber you will be told you should clean your tack every time you ride. THIS IS RUBBISH! dont do this unless you have a groom, or nothing else to do. Clean it before competitions and pony club rallies. and occasionally if you wade through mud on a pony. Or it will crack and die. Geneii
Goo Gone works well for that.
Rub the stains with a rag dipped in Goof Off.

Yes, you can. But it is considered bad taste, if you use it in show. But here are the Pro's & Con's of Synthetic Tack. Pro's: * You don't have to have Cattle killed, to have the Tack made. * It is more durable. * It won't show as much wear & tear. * It is very "clean friendly". You can just squirt it with a hose on high, and it's clean! * It's less expensive. Con's: * It is not as formal as Leather. * Most equestrians consider it bad taste to use it in SHOW. * You can't find it at all Tack Shops. You sometimes have to order it ONLINE.
Well not really, you can do it once or twice a week so long as you keep the tack clean.
