There are many carb/choke cleaners on the market, however, I would be leary of any of them that will harm plastic. A cleaner that I am particularly fond of using is Mercury Power Tune. This product dissolves gum very well, and I have not seen any problems when sprayed on plastics. Simply spray it into a small container, ( a carb bowl works well ), and soak until part is clean.
