How do you clear the Engine Service light in a 2000 Toyota Corolla?
Well my corolla need a new flow meter, new transmission oil and a belt tensioner, not sure which one fixed it though
Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes (sometimes this works) or bring to a shop and have vehicle scanned to determine the problem and clear codes From the Owners Manual - Press in and hold the ODOMETER RESET, then start the engine. This will need to be done about every 5000 miles as it is also used to remind you to get your OIL CHANGED.
some times turning the ignition switch on and off several times without starting the engine will clear this code. if not you may have to have the ECM flashed. dealer preferred task. From Owners Manual - Press and hold the ODOMETER RESET then start the car. This will reset the light for about 5000 miles then it will start again. It is a reminder to change your oil.
The service engine light is merely the 5,000 - mile reminder to change your oil. With the ignition switch on - you do not need to start the vehicle - press your odometer button until the total mileage is displayed (not the Trip A or B). Turn the ignition back off. Now press and hold the odometer button while turning the ignition switch back on. The display will show all dashes and then remove them…
service the engine...... or disconnect the battery for a few moments to clear the memory on your cars computer..... please be safe and do it in a way that you do not hurt your self. most of the time the service engine light comes on, there may be damage to the engine, the computer cant tell you when something is about to go wrong, it can only tell you after it has.....,..
Probably none, Service engine is normally an indicator the a scheduled maintenance interval has been met. Check your owners manual for a list of them, once performed check with your local auto parts store for an OBDII reader that can clear the light. A repair facility or dealer wil clear it for you after they perform the maintenance.
Service engine soon light on after you replaced drive belt and Power steering pump drive belt at Pep-boys are they responsible for rechecking engine codes?
You can disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes and this will clear the check engine codes stored in the computer. If the problem that caused the code has not been repaired the check engine code will just happen again. The only way to get the check engine light to not be on is to repair the problem then clear the codes.

A signal will be heard indicating reset. After the 21st restart of the vehicle, the "TIME FOR SERVICE" message will be cancelled.
go to autozone, have them scan for the problem. they can clear the code and have the "service engine soon" light off. however; it will come back on unless you get the issue resolved. you must still clear the codes after you resolve the problem, autozone will be able to do that. they ususally are free of charge in doing so. or the other alternative... take it to a mechanic shop and have them scan…
After you repaired a broken exhaust pipe how do you get the service engine light to go off on an Infiniti QX4?
A broken exhaust pipe shouldn't trigger the check engine light. The only way to reset it is to have someone clear it with the scanner. EDIT: This guy is not true. Gross leak codes will be thrown for a broken exhaust. To clear the check engine you can disconnect the battery for a minute or two and reconnect it. Why answer if you dont know???
What if the reset button wiil not cut off the service engine soon light on the 2001 Oldsmobile alero?
If you are referring to the reset button inside of the fuse compartment then the answer to your question is that pushing that reset button is not meant to clear the service engine soon message. That reset button is what you would press after changing the oil (after the change oil message comes on to the left of the tachometer)... If your service engine soon message is on consistently then chances are you may have…
