Have a friend/Family member hold the cat, (I suggest the holder wear think rubber gloves!) while you hold the paw, then clip the nails.
And if this cat is CRAZY, put something solid but something the cat can still breath through, this could possibly calm it.

∙ 14y agoYou may try to buy your cat some treats and spend some time with your cat before clipping its claws. The cat will trust you and if he/she runs away, repeat this process and try clipping the claws one at a time.

∙ 16y agoJust a little bit at a time less than 1/8 of an inch, if you can see the quik always clip 1/2 in away from in, be very careful, take to the vet first have them clip and show you how to do it.

∙ 14y agoIf you give your hamster enough play euipment and take hit out in a secure area from time to time, its nails should naturaly grind down to size. Personally, I would not cut its nails at all.

If you don't, their nails become either to long or they curl under and then the guinea pig wont be able to walk well, and it will be EXTREMELY painful. you can either go to a vet, or learn how to do it from a pro.
