Give that item to a Pokemon. Once you've done that, head to the Battle Tower in the Battle Frontier. Have at the very maximum 2-3 Pokemon in your party. Do all these steps in the right order! If these steps aren't performed correctly, your game file may be totally screwed.
1.Now boot up the PC.
2.Log into Lanette's PC.
3.Deposit the Pokemon you wanna clone into any box (I did it with box 9.)
4.Turn off the PC.
5.Save the game.
6.Withdraw the Pokemon you deposited before.
7.Head to the lady closest to the PC (the one with the Multi-Link Battle Option).
8.Talk to her & say yes to the challenge.
9.When it says "SAVING.......... DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER" turn the game off.
10.Don't get freaked by the "corrupted game file". It's normal.
11.Then turn it back on & check your party. You'll see your Pokemon's still there.
12.Head towards the PC. Check the box you withdrew the Pokemon from. If this was done properly, you'll see the exact same Pokemon in your party & in the PC box. The Pokemon held item is cloned as well.
