Lysosomes. My AP Biology teacher back in high school used to give us the mnemonic "Lysis slices"; so if you remember that rhyme, you can remember that the lysosomes cut food particles (and yes, worn-out organelles) to parts base enough to be useful.
Lysosomes break down large food particles into sugars and other simple substances. A lysosome would be related to the cafeteria; the lunch ladies get large amounts of food and serve it in smaller portions.!
