Solubility can be written as %m/m (mass in g per 100g), %m/v (mass in g per 100mL), %v/v (mL per 100mL), ppm (parts per million), ppb (parts per billion) etc. Solubility is also dependant on pressure and temperature.

Due to these variables, in the same units (eg. %m/m) and at the same set of temperature and pressure (SLC or STP) you can compare the solubility values.

What does it mean when you alter the solubility of a solution?

Modifying the temperature, pressure or adding another substances in the solution the solubility is modified.

What is meant by solubility of a solute?

Solubility is the ability of a substance to dissolve completely in another substance. The substance that dissolves is called the solute. If the solute has a high solubility, then it easily dissolves in most substances to create a solution. If the solute has a low solubility, then it does not dissolve easily and rarely goes into solution with other substances.

Is a solubility a Prue substances or a mixtures?

Solubles are homogenous mixtures.

What is the description of solubility?

Solubility is the ability of a solute to dissolve in a solvent in order to form a homogeneous solution. Relative solubility refers to the solubility of different substances.

Temperature and polarity are factors that affect the solubility of a particular substance.

Is solubility a substance?

It is a substance that may cease to be a solid by dissolving into it's solvent. Polar substances dissolve in water; most organic substances may be dissolved in water; while inorganic substances may only be dissolved in inorganic solvents.

Can pressure affect the solubility of a substances in a solution?

Pressure can affect the solubility but the effect is not important.

What type of property is solubility?

There are different types of solubility. The most common ones are lipophilic solubility and aqueous solubility. There are different factors that will affect solubility and define its specification.
