You buy a wireless router, wire the desktop and router to the modem, and use the laptop by getting a wireless card or usb wireless adapter.
The router is wirelss so that is how I connected. There is also a plug for an Ethernet connection on the back you can use.
Hi Sonya, sorry for the delay. The answer, is yes. You will be able to hook up magic jack to your uverse router on phone line 2, and everything should work great. I would use the computer in phone line 1's room to connect to the router on phone line 2. If however, you have problems making the magic jack work with the uverse router (some people have) you will need to update your magic jack and router firmware. Linksys is the name of a wireless router, not an ISP; you'll have to check with the owner of the router which ISP they connect it to.
Like any other network, you use a router or an ethernet cord and connect the computers and run the network setup wizard on both comps.
