If your tv has a DVI input then you can get a DVI cable and connect your computer to your tv.
Also, you can buy a Component Video adapter for macbooks that allows them to connect.
However on new Mac's they run a MiniDisplay Port instead of Mini DVI so you'll need a MiniDisplay Port adapter to convert the signal to HDMI or DVI.

∙ 13y agoIf the TV supports DVI inputs then simply get a miniDVI-to-DVI cable and connect the macbook (miniDVI) to the TV (DVI).
Then select on the TV the related input number for DVI (usually can be found on the back of the TV, next to the physical input there should be the input # or follow TV's manual).
If the TV doesn't support DVI still get a miniDVI-to-VGA cable, connect and then select the related input for the VGA input.
If you already have a miniDVI-to-whatever cable you might just need an adapter.

If newer unibody macbook you can use the "mini-display port" to either VGA or DVI adaptor. you will then probably need a cable that will connect those to the TV. In the case of the DVI which will give you better resolution you will probably want the DVI to HDMI adapter. That is what I use.
