The short answer is, it depends. Many laptops come with a network port in the back or on the side that can be used to connect to a wired network. The port looks like a telephone jack except it has 8 pins instead of 4. If your laptop doesn't have a port, you can buy a network card that plugs into one of the card slots in the side. In either case you'll need a CAT5 or CAT6 standard network cable to connect the laptop to the network hub. Hope that helps. you can also install a wireless access point onto your network

∙ 15y agoFigure out is there wireless available on the lan. If so, just get the wireless key and connect via the windows inbuilt wireless client.
If there's no wireless, it connects the exact same way a normal PC would connect.
