There are many different ways the term "connect" can be viewed when speaking about "connecting" a PS2 to your computer.
Factually and speaking from experience, I can state these things.
* You can connect a PS2's visual output to your computer with the aid of a TV Tuner card, or similar piece of hardware, which is not included with your average or even above average stock computer sold on the open market.
* You cannot network to the PS2 using a USB cable. You cannot access hard data via a LAN Ethernet cable.
* The only way to be able to come close to accessing raw data on the PS2 short of being a Sony developer with necessary hardware not available on the open market (and practically impossible to find on the black market as well), is to use the PS2 "Phat" model, and purchase a HDD and Network Adapter, or purchase a specialized modded PS2 Memory Card with USB computer access. The first option would allow you to store gamesaves on the now internal hard disk. The secondary option allows you to plug your memory card into your computer to share saved games with other people in the PS2 community online, and as well back up your saves on your computer.
Works with LCD and CRT vga monitors (computer screens)

you need a connecting cable wicth you can get at wal-mart or staples. then you need to connect the connecting cable on the back of the ps2 and the back of the modem. THE MODEM IS THE LITTLE BOX YOU HAVE WERE YOU GET THE internet. you can get the modem at cox. then you need the ps2 adopter, if you dont have one maybe if the your game says edit settings or something like that you can edit.
This is actually quite easy!
All you have to do is take the Cable with the RED, WHITE, and YELLOW on it and stick it in the back. It is obvious which slot to put it in.
The put tne Cable that has the TWO-PRUNGED outlet side on it and put it in the other slot in the back.
Then just hook up the RED, WHITE,and YELLOW cable into your Television!
Then put on the switch in the back of the PS2 . You will see a red light in the front. Press it to turn it fully on1
The press the blue lighted button. This will open the Disc slot. Put in your game, CD, or DVD and start ROLLOIN'!
"Hook up" can have a variety of meanings. It would be helpful to know what you are trying to accomplish. If you have a video capture card, you can record your gameplay onto your computer. Other than that, there is not much utility in connecting your PlayStation 2 to your computer in any way.
You do not . The PS2 was designed to be connected to a TV not a computer monitor
Ethercable which goes for just about everything that needs a wired connection for the internet. You connect the cable to the ps2 and a modem(whcih you should have if you have internet). -
