Bangor Punta no longer owns the S&W Air gun division, they sold it to Daisy air gun around 1980. Umarex also made S&W copies around 1999.

Yes, they made the Model 80G. It had a brown plastic stock. It was made between 1972-80. In 1980 they sold the air gun manufacturing to Daisy air gun co.

I think you may want to check your numbers again. I believe they are 799.2028 not 7892028. If I am right, then the air rifle was made by Daisy air gun co. for Sears using the JC Higgins brand name. None of my catalogues list this particular number but I know that all airguns that start with 799 were made by Daisy and all JC Higgins airguns that start with 126 were made by Crosman air gun co.
