Damper , and using fewer logs
Furnace, woodstove, heater
a woodstove. they are really effective. i have one and it is so warm. you even save money using it instead of your furnace.
Firewood is used for burning. Either in an open outdoor fire, on a grill for cooking, or inside in a fireplace or woodstove. Its uses are cooking, heat or enjoyment.
I do!
In great shape $400.
It adjusts the heat in the car so you can control your AC and heat to the temperature you like.
The quantum of heat in wood is directly a product of its (dry) mass. Willow is a light weight wood, and has much less heat then say hickory for a given volume. But weight for weight (dry) they would be similar. BUT since willow would burn much quicker, it would generate a fiercer flame; but for a short time.
Poplar is the wood the wooden matches are made from. It burns VERY quickly, has a fairly low heat value, and produces few coals for lasting heat. It is not BAD to burn- just not really good. We burn it to dispose of it, or to use for kindling- I would not BUY poplar to burn.

Both hair and feathers control the flow of heat. Without either, an animal would lose heat much quicker.
