How do you convert Celsius to Fahrenheit's?

Here are some different methods submitted by the community: To convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, use this basic formula. C = 5/9 (F-32) Temperature Celsius = 5/9 (Temperature Fahrenheit - 32) The reverse formula is F = 9/5 C +32 Temperature Fahrenheit = (9/5 x Temperature Celsius) + 32 ______ Use this equation to convert degrees Celsius/Centigrade (ºC) to degrees Fahrenheit (ºF): [°F] = [°C] × 1.8 + 32 ________ F to C: Deduct 32, then multiply by 5, then divide by 9 C to F: Multiply by 9, then divide by 5, then add 32 ________ Here's a simpler way that I've used for many, many years. Let's use an example of 16C. Double it to 32 and subtract the first digit (3), leaving 29. Now add the 29 to 32F (freezing point) and the answer in Fahrenheit is 61F. Again, if the temperature is 24F - double to 48 - less the 4 = 44. Add that to 32. The result is 76F. This method works in negative values as well. -9C - double to 18, minus the 1=17. 32F minus 17 = 15F. Much simpler math than multiplying by 9 followed by division - and it's always spot on accurate.

How much Celsius is -3 Fahrenheit?

Start by taking the number in Fahrenheit and subtracting 32. Then divide the number by 9, and then multiply it by 5. This is how you convert Fahrenheit to Celsius or use the equation C = (F - 32) × 5/9 In this case, the answer is about -19.44 degrees Celsius. Using a calculator (who doesn't have one these days?) there is a very simple formula to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit and back again. Convert C to F: C x 1.8 + 32 = F Example 10C to 50F 10 x 1.8 = 18, then + 32 = 50 10 multiply 1.8 equals 18 plus 32 equals 50 Convert F to C F - 32 / 1.8 = C Example 50F to 10C 50 - 32 =18, then divide by 1.8 = 10 50 minus 32 equals 18 divide by 1.8 equals 10 When converting temps below zero, you must begin with the negative number in the calculator and employ the formula from that point. Example -15C to +5F 0 - 15 = -15 x 1.8 = -27 + 32 = +5 Most calculators require the 0 minus 15 and then equal to get the negative starting point. So: -15 mulitply 1.8 equals -27 plus 32 equals +5 Reverting it is easy: 5 minus 32 equals -27, then divide by 1.8 equals -15

How hot is Saudi Arabia and how cold is antarctica?

Why is negative 40 degrees Celsius equal to negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit?

It just happens that the conversion formula from Celsius to Fahrenheit (and vice versa) gives this result. Here is the conversion formula for -40 C to Fahrenheit:F = (C x 1.8) + 32F = (-40 x 1.8) + 32F = -72 + 32Fahrenheit = -40°

1998 GMC why does the rear view mirror temp work in cel. and not F. also dimming does not work?

I just had this same thing happen to me, i was quite depressed as i never knew how much i looked at it until it was gone. Out of desperation i held the Temp button in and counted to 15. i looked at the mirror and the Celsius light was blinking so i let go and hit the button again and the Fahrenheit light was blinking. After a second the temp was showing in Fahrenheit again. I hope this works for you. Why do some people use Fahrenheit and others use Celsius?

Most scientific and industrial processes now use Celsius instead of the traditional Fahrenheit scale, and Fahrenheit is only used primarily in three areas :Atmospheric temperatures as publicly announced (Celsius equivalents when in written forms)Baking and cooking temperatures (to avoid confusion with older publications and users)Body temperatures for medical uses (again, to conform to older information sources)The USA is very resistant to metrication. The Fahrenheit scale was the primary temperature standard for climatic, industrial and medical purposes in most English-speaking countries until the 1960s. In the late 1960's and 1970's, the Celsius (formerly centigrade) scale was adopted by most of these countries as part of the standardizing process called metrication. Only in the United States and a few other countries does the Fahrenheit system continue to be used, and only for non-scientific use. Most other countries have adopted Celsius as the primary scale in all use, although Fahrenheit continues to be the scale of preference for a minority of people in the UK, particularly when referring to summer temperatures. Most Britons are conversant with both Celsius and Fahrenheit. Resistance to the Celsius system was partly due to the larger size of each degree Celsius, resulting in the need for fractions, where integral Fahrenheit degrees were adequate for much technical work. The lower zero point in the Fahrenheit system reduced the number of negative signs when measurements such as weather data were averaged
