It is very simple. You tell them that music is a way to express yourself, and with todays technology, an iPod is the only way to carry around your 'expression'. If that doesn't work, tell them that they always wanted you to express yourself, and that you really feel that having an Ipod, you aren't your self until you get one. :) (this can apply, even if music isn't a way to 'express yourself'. :] )
