No. Powered Rails just accelerate a minecart. If something tries to move the block they are on, they will 'pop' out.
You need powered rails, powered by a redstone torch. These rails push you along, they can push you up a slope.
There are no rails and minecarts in Minecraft Classic.
You can craft boats to sail in the water, or minecarts, to ride along rails.
minecarts can be used on rails and for powered rails, first, put a detector rail before the powered rail, then once the minecart is detected, it powers the rail.
You have to make a rail track (with powered rails) put the mine cart on the rail and nudge it.
There are three types of tracks: Rails Powered Rails Detector Rails A cart will only be placed if you are looking at a type of rail. After you place it, you can push it around on the grass or sand
make some rails and powered rails put them how you please with power rails every once and a while. make a minecart and place it on the rails then jump in and your ready too go! (if that was not the best answer goto youtube and look it up)
Detector rails generate redstone energy (for a redstone wire or other contraption) when a minecart is on them. You can make a simple minecart accelerator by placing rails like so: [minecart rail][detector rail][powered rail][powered rail][detector rail][minecart rail]
In the old updates such as 0.7.0, you couldn't mine redstone, but now in the present you are able to mine redstone (0.8.1) it has improved over the last months, in pocket edition it can be used to craft powered rails and compasses. Happy mining!
You could push the minecart, although you wont go that far. You can also try powered rails to push your minecart forward.
You would need rails, detector rails, power rails, and minecarts.
