Above the existing topics on Gaia is an orange button with a notepad and pencil. It says "New Topic". You click that and it will take you to a page for creating a topic. You add a topic title in the subject field and you type a message in the message field. When you are done you click "Preview" to make sure any coding is right, and then you click "Submit".

You can't start a new topic in the Just Chatting forum, because there have been great amounts of vandalism in that forum. If you want to create a new topic, message any supervisor and tell them what you want it to be, and they will create it for you.
