You can't create friction in space. To slow down you are going to hace to reverse you direction by starting an engine on the opposite direction. To goto the right or left, you want to start engines on the side to push the rocket that way.

Does salt create friction?

no, movement creates friction

How does friction move an object?

Friction doesn't cause or create movement, it's a force that prevents or hinders movement.

Is there friction in space, and if so, how does it affect the movement of objects in the vacuum of space?

Yes, there is some friction in space, known as "interstellar medium" or "space dust." This friction can affect the movement of objects in space by gradually slowing them down over time, especially for spacecraft traveling at high speeds. However, the impact of this friction is minimal compared to the effects of gravity and inertia in the vacuum of space.

Why there is no friction on space?

Friction is the force that resists motion between two surfaces in contact. In the vacuum of space, there are no surfaces or molecules to create this friction. Objects in space can move freely without friction because there is very little resistance to their motion.

What can friction cause?

It can cause things to stop. (===========================) friction did that

What situation is friction is not needed?

Rotating bearings.

What can friction do to a moving object?

friction can slow down the object or make it stop. it can also cause the object to create heat.

How does water friction affect the movement of objects in aquatic environments?

Water friction, also known as drag, slows down the movement of objects in aquatic environments. When an object moves through water, the water molecules create resistance, making it harder for the object to move quickly. This friction can affect the speed and efficiency of the object's movement in water.

What limits the speed of an object dropped in air?

Friction ... no two objects can occupy the same space at the same time ... something has to move, and that continual process may create heat and friction.

When is there friction with no movement?

Friction can occur without movement when there is static friction, which happens when two surfaces are in contact but not moving relative to each other. Static friction prevents movement from occurring until a certain force threshold is exceeded.

Why space shuttle doesn't get hot as it travels through outer space?

I am not 100% sure on this but here is my educated idea. For one, the places we have traveled in the vacuum of space are very cold. The main reason though I believe is lack of friction. Although there are tiny particles there is for the most part just space and it's vacuum therefore nothing much to resist or create friction which generates heat energy. With so little friction we have not yet reached the speeds in space that would be necessary to create that heat. Again though; I am not entirely sure. Improvements to this answer welcome.

How are static friction sliding friction and rolling friction the same?

They all create centrifical force on an object and create stops
