First, watch the movie!

  1. Write down key factors, important moments, and all of the lead actors/actresses (or any with significant roles)
  2. Note the elements of the story - beginning, climax, and ending
  3. Go through your notes and decide which parts you will include in your critique
  4. Open with something interesting to get the readers to want to read your critique - be sure to include the movie title as well as the key actors/actresses and the producer and/or director
  5. Give the basic plot of the movie and tell what you found good and bad about it - hint at the climax but don't give anything away
  6. Close by giving your opinion - be sure to give solid reasons
