if you have an actuall razor blade (from a stanley knife, just a bought straight one or even one out of a shaver) just press down not too hard and just slash. recognise the depth and do that again until you have cut as deep as you want

with a pencil sharpener blade make a slow cut by putting pressure on the corner and dragging it and after it has opened up just start slashing
