If you are looking for a short answer than yes, it potentially can. Most cutters that I know cut to stay alive, not to kill themselves. But, in some cases people do cut their arteries in their arm to kill themselves. If you or someone you know is doing this than you really need to seek out a counselor/therapist.

Also, even if you aren't actively trying to kill yourself by cutting, the cuts can get infected and become septic, which could potentially kill you.

if your problem is not that too serious, i think its best to not cut it at all..

if you people were smart you wouldn't cut your wrist at all even if you had problems you would try to face them although it hurts its just a part of life and you have to learn to accept it no one ever said it was going to be easy

Please I forbid you DON'T cut!!Cutting can be addictive when you start so don't do it!It will ruin your life!This comes from a young cutter I started because my parents were divorcing and proceeded cause I have an abusive step dad...Make sure you want to cut don't do it for attention!Cut across the river not down it (don't cut deaper than 1/4 of a cm) and use a needle and tilt it on its side it's less painful and minimizes the risk of suicide if you choose cutting is right for you I'd hate myself if anything happened to you!! D: Cutting is not ok and I don't recommend it PLEASE try to write poetry or cry out all the pain!Take a pen not a knife! BVB saved my life and you should give them a chance too listening to music helps relief pain and express emotions!
