Decide which variation of the robot suits your dance skills. There are a few variations; the traditional robot, the broken robot and the malfunctioner.
Step 2
Pick music that has a distinctive beat and a beat that can be identified easily. Listen to the music and feel the beat so you can begin to do the robot dance.
Step 3
Imagine a robot and begin to move your limbs in a stiff fashion that mimics a robot. Recall break-dancing culture of the 1980s, if you are unfamiliar, refer to videos of 1980s hip hop culture dancing.
Step 4
Pop your limbs in a fashion that represents a stiff jointed style. Continue to pop your limbs in a robotic fashion but only every few beats, robots do not move terribly fast.
Step 5
Repeat the following steps until the end of the song.Have fun and think mechanical, if necessary only move your arms as robots often have conjoined legs that are not fluid.
