Be yourself...
Morris Dancing is an English traditional festival dance. A person plays fool in the dance who dances out of tune and without any coordination with other dancers. A fool can be a man or a woman. It does not necessarily have to be women.

First off you do not want to be nervous. That is most important. Second just go up to him by yourself so you can show him that you are not going to have your friends help you with everything. Third, you want to make a complement to him. Be like "i really like your body spray" or something of that nature. Lastly just ask him to the dance. Be confident in yourself and if he answers, no, then say to yourself that he was not the right one for you. I'm a guy, take my advice.
Because you end up making a fool of yourself
WOTLESS: carelessly making a fool of yourself but having fun doing it
To undo making a fool of yourself to your ex, first, acknowledge your actions and take responsibility without making excuses. Reach out with a sincere apology, expressing regret for your behavior and showing that you've reflected on it. It's important to communicate that you've learned from the experience and are working on personal growth. Ultimately, respect their space and decision, understanding that they may need time to process your apology.
Generally the fool interacts with the audience in different ways, and sometimes announces the next dance. Fools also do dance in the set. Usually a fool is a 'Betsy' (making it obvious that he's a man dressed in woman's clothing) or a man in an animal costume (generally a hobby horse or a dragon).
make a move, fool!
