Extreme vocals take serious talent. You need stamina, endurance, and thick vocal chords. The ability to growl properly is not something that can be taught. You either can or you can't. In that sense, it's much like traditional singing. You can only give singing lessons to those who already exhibit a knack for singing.
A mistake that most death novices make is growling through their throat. The "cookie monster" effect cannot be reproduced by straining your voice. That will only damage your vocal chords. You have to push through your abdomen. All of your vocal strength comes from the diaphragm. It also helps if your back is in a fixed position. Don't slouch or leave your spine limp. Inhale and belt out a deep roar by loosening your vocal chords. Your throat has to be relaxed in order for your growl to rumble with intensity. Again, don't force your voice to crack. If it still doesn't crack, then your vocal chords simply weren't made for growling.
Sorry, but I hope this helped.
The following information I am giving you is from personal experience as a person who can growl well. It is not a lesson by any means but it will get you started. By the way, the good death metal singers out there do not use vocal changers, so whoever replied to this post originally is an idiot. By the way, growling is not harful to you nor does it bring about pain. If it does, you are definitely doing it wrong and your growl sounds like crap (because you are doing it wrong)
Tim does not growl, not even close. He uses a screaming technique that does not hurt his voice, that's all. Growling is much more (tuneful, characterized, whatever you want to call it) and it is MUCH harder to do than screaming. It resembles singing in many ways, and takes a lot of practice. Learn how to breathe properly from your diaphragm first. If you don't take the sweet time to do that first then forget trying to growl. After that try to sing a single note WITHOUT USING YOUR VOCAL CHORDS. It will be deep in your throat at first. But when you actually learn to growl, you will feel vibration in between your collar bone or very close to it. You must also keep your throat as open as possible without tightening up. Learn to manipulate the air (very important) to get the growl sound. There are also many other things to learn, but start out with that. By the way, listen to bands with true growling to hear what it actually sounds like such as Opeth, Nile, Dark Tranquility, Amon Amarth are very good examples.
A good way to do the sreamo teckneak is to eat hot cheetos or any thing spicy and drink hot tea so that the spit gets thik so it wont hurt as bad
You use your false vocal chords and use your diaphragm to sustain it. There are many precautions to take before attempting to growl such as being able to sing first of all. It takes a lot of training to do it correctly and not strain yourself and cause damage to your vocal chords.
Loud and hard. Gutteral. Low.
death metal is not the same as screamo death metal came first so if anything screamo could be considered a type of death metal but not the other way around

This isn't a very necessary question... anyone can scream at their moment of death.
People abruptly yell or make a gasping noise, it's hard to describe how to scream.
Death metal is not very hard, considering the basic skill it takes. The only real challenging thing about playing death metal is the ability to growl, yell, scream, etc. The guitarist usually plays open strings and power chords (oh and an occasional scale or two). The drums are pretty simple and consist mostly of double bass and snare, basically.
Death Screams was created in 1983.
Well the best metal band is Metallica or Medadeth (no "a" in death). Some other ones are Disturbed, Godsmack, and Slipknot(if you like scream o) If you're new to metal, go in gently with Iron Maiden or Def Leppard or Saxon or Judas Priest.
