Every true-false questions contain one or two options. Often the wording is complex or a teacher tries to make it harder to trip you up. So you need to read the question very carefully! If it contains many pieces, mark a T right above anything that you KNOW is true. Draw a light line through anything you KNOW is false. Re-read it again. Weigh what you know is true against what you know is false, using your T and F markings. Then, make your decision. Don't second guess yourself!

Example: Is it true or false that food enters the stomach before it enters the esophagus where peristalsis helps it move through the intestines.

TIP: The order of events is wrong there! Food enters the esophagus, then the stomach, then the small intestines. The esophagus and intestines both use peristalsis but the question is still out of order. Answer is False.

Example: Is it true that cold air rises so it can get closer to the sun.

TIP: Wrong facts! Warm air rises; cold air stays lower. Getting closer to the sun has nothing to with this scientific fact about warm air.

Example: Is is true or false that 19 milligrams is equal to 19 milliliters?

TIP: Wrong thinking! You cannot mix those two types of conversion units.

Can a true or false question have an explanation?

There is no way to put an explanation into a question. It is best NOT to try to ask true-false questions on this website because they are not questions, they are just statements. Change the statement into a question and ask that instead, and you will get the right answer. For example, don't ask "Cats are carnivores" ask "Are cats carnivores?"

Can an answer be half right?

Logically, no. If any part of the answer is false, then the whole answer is false. However, there are situations where strict adherence to logic is not particularly helpful. An answer may be right in some circumstances but not in others. An answer to a multiple question may contain some (but not all) correct elements.
