Without all the specialist equipment, the only way you can find out is this: if you can pour it, and/or it takes the shape of the container it is given, it is a liquid, and remember, stuff like syrup is still a liquid even though it is quite thick. Also remember that ketchup is a liquid too.
If it stays in the same form, and doesn't move without force e.g. it is placed on a slope or you push it, then it is a solid.
If you can 't see it, and only know that it is in the room by smell, or side effects such as a physical change to you - Carbon Monoxide makes your cheeks go rosy pink - then it is a gas.
Hope this helps. (Been doing this subject in Science last two lessons) he he.
Because it is a element that is a liquid at a room tempeture
sugar granules is the sample matter
Yes. Stone is matter.
yes
A quick test to determine what is in a sample of a meteorite (or anything else, for that matter) is to run that sample through a mass spectrometer. Mass spectrometry (MS) will tell you whether nickel is among the constituent elements in that sample you just put through the machine. Use the links below to learn more.
One way to decide whether a sample of matter is homogeneous or heterogeneous is just by looking at it.

The differences between a solid, liquid and gas are simple! A solid is an object that has a set volume, and is hard to compress. A liquid will take the shape of its container, but is hard to compress. A gas will take the shape of its container, and is easy to compress.
It is the behaviour exhibited by matter in various chemical, physical or biological reactions or treatments.
How much thermal energy is needed to convert a 2.0-kg sample of liquid methanol into a gas?
sugar granules is the sample matter
When a sample of liquid is cooled its thermal energy goes to its surroundings
Yes!
Contains a sample of "Cavern" by Liquid Liquid
That's two words, you know.Particulate matter settles out of a solution.Strain the particulate matter out of the liquid and collect it.
a stratified random sample
