∙ 9y agoThe way to beat Bowser is to grab his tail. This is made a little more difficult because Bowers can phase to different location on the platform. He will also charge Mario, but will stop if he gets to close to the edge. This can give you a precious few moments to grab his tail.

To get to the basement, first you have to have 8 stars. Then you defeat bowser by going up the stairs, to the left, and entering the door with the giant star on it. Follow the corridor, and you will be dropped into the level "Bowser in the Dark World". Defeat Bowser here, and he will give you a key. Take this key, go through one of the wooden doors on ground level. If you go through the left door, the basement will be on your right. If you go through the right door, the basement will be on your left. Simply go down the stairs, and walk up to the door. Mario will then pull out the key, stick it in the lock, turn it, and open the door. You are now in the basement.
