Okay, in order to defeat sara in inuyasha and the divine jewel, you have to try have a little bit level up with everyone, once you get there and have a battle with Sara, first defeat sara using wind scar and use the blackwash wind and try to defeat sara and then you can defeat all the demon once sara is gone in the battle.

If your at the point where you've gotten to the mountain pass go through there, then head to Sara's Lair (a cave) after you get through there continue until you come across a village (Sakata Village) go there and visit the stores there you should be able to obtain a permit so you can go through the check point and not through the mountains anymore. Otherwise if you've already encountered Hachi pay him 100mon and he'll give you ride. Lead him to the village above the checkpoint and go to one of the stores to buy a permit.
