You can degauss your monitor by passing a magnet across the surface. This is commonly done on CRT style monitors and is often built into most.
I do not think it will damage the computer.
It doesn't do anything for the actual computer, it just works on the monitor screen. It's the electronic version of turning an Etch-a-Sketch upside down and shaking it. My guess is you have a pretty old monitor if it has the degauss button. Phil ^^^ phil, just felt like saying your a queef. thanks
The first thing to do may be fixing graphics options. Open your menu with the buttons on the physical monitor. (that being the ones you can touch) Then find degauss and select it. That should fix the waviness.
In the process of displaying images on a screen, a monitor uses electric currents to control the flow of electrons in a cathode ray tube or the liquid crystals in an LCD screen. This manipulation of electric currents generates a magnetic field that helps create the images visible on the monitor.
The uses of a degausser is like the name indicates, to degauss. It has most widely been used in regards to CRT televisions, where the degausser would work to remove or severely lessen the magnetic field in the monitor.

If it is on just certain games, then it is your video card not being able to support the graphics, so you might need to upgrade.
