Of the former 9 planets, only Pluto does not meet these criteria. There are other possible ways of defining planet.

∙ 9y agoIt has to have an earth-like mass, and it has to be in the right distance from a star to have life. Basically the Goldilocks situation. It has to be not too hot or too cold.

∙ 9y agoThey don't directly. Most of the dwarf planets have only been observed through telescopes. The only exception is Ceres, which had an unmanned probe enter into orbit around it in 2015.
