There are different formulas for different shapes, so I'll provide you with a few common ones.
Cylinder Sides: Pi x diameter x height
Top/bottom: Pi x radius squared
Cone Sides: Pi x radius x slant
Top/bottom: Pi x radius squared
Sphere: Pi x radius squared x 4
Pyramid (square base) Sides: Slant x Base x 2
Top/Bottom: Base squared
Rectangular Prism
L x W + W x H + H x L=____x2
(Rectangular Solid)
Surface area formulas are different for each shape.
square or rectangle - length*width
cube - 6*x^2 where x is the length of any given side
rectangular prism - 2ab+2bc+2ac where a, b and c are the lengths of 3 sides
circle - Pi*r^2 where r is the radius
sphere - 4*Pi*r^2 where r is the radius
cylinder - 2(Pi*r^2)+(2*Pi*r)h where r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder
There are alot more, but these are some of the most common ones I've had to use for various reasons. A quick Google search should give you any others that you may need.
Actually it depends on what figure you are looking for...
Area measures exactly what it says: the amount of space a shape takes up
2 (pi r 2) + (2 pi r ) x height or area of top + perimeter of top x height
It is the area of one face multiplied by 6 since there is 6 faces
The answer depends on what shape it is and what information you have about that shape.
square units
a tape measure
Multiply the length times the width.
Rough surfaces form irregular surface increase the surface area. Catalytic action is directly proportional to the area of contact.
Lining of your intestine is not smooth. Nature has adapted various methods to increase the surface area of the intestine. The surface has become grossly uneven due to this factor. The surface area of the small intestine is about 2750 square feet. That is why the surface becomes rough, although the lining is made of very soft epithelium.
The temperature range of Pluto is 33 degrees Kelvin to 55 degrees Kelvin.
Area the measure of the two - dimensional space enclosed in a shape while volume is the measure of the three - dimensional space in enclosed in a shape. this is true said blue waffle man.Area has two dimensions. Volume has three. Also are is a measure of a surface and Volume is a space occupied by a gas or liquid.Volume is measured in cubic units and area is measured in square units.Area is surface measurement. Volume is measurement of the surface area x depth or height (think of capacity to describe volume).
If the cell has a simple geometric shape, there are formulae that can be used. Otherwise you need to measure the surface area and the volume.
Mass, the bearing surface (how much weight on what surface area), and a "coefficient of friction", a measure of how rough or smooth the surface is.
The Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (Rough ER) has ribosomes on its surface.
Rough surfaces form irregular surface increase the surface area. Catalytic action is directly proportional to the area of contact.
Try a tape measure and a calculator to measure surface area.
surface area
more rough surface more friction object have
The size of a surface or region is its area.
surface area is the measure of a 3dementional and 2 dementional object
Area is the measure of how much surface an object has.
you can measure them
Measure its diameter.The surface area of a sphere is [ pi D2 ] .
This depends on what unit you are using to measure in. However, area will always be measure in (unit)^2.
